Transfer Trail is a daily football guessing game at transfertrail.app. This page says what the game stores about you and why. Questions and requests go to alex@alexframe.dev.
What is stored
If you just play. Your browser gets one cookie, named rx, holding a random identifier. Against that identifier the server keeps the club you chose and your rounds: when each started and finished, your guesses, the hints you used and your score. The cookie is needed for the game to work. It is not used for advertising.
If you sign in with Google. Google tells the game your Google account identifier and your first name. The game stores those two things so your results and streak follow you between devices and count toward your club. Your email address, contacts and other Google data are not stored and not requested.
Abuse limits. When a new player is created the server counts it against a scrambled, one-day fingerprint of the network address, so one machine cannot create players without end. The address itself is not stored and the counter is deleted after two days.
What is not stored. No email addresses, no passwords, no payment details, no location.
Who else sees data
Cloudflare hosts the site and database. Like any host it processes your IP address to deliver pages and to block abusive traffic.
Google is involved only if you choose to sign in.
Data is not sold and not shared with anyone else. The club table shows only club names, averages and the number of players, never individual players.
How long
Rounds and club choices are kept while the game runs, so streaks and history work. The cookie lasts one year from your last visit.
Your choices
Clearing the cookie makes your browser a new anonymous player. Signing out does the same on that device while your account keeps its history. To have an account and its rounds deleted, or to get a copy of what is stored about you, write to the address above from any address and say which Google account it concerns.
Children
The game is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If what the game stores changes, for example if advertising is added, this page will be updated first and the date above will change.
